CI Labs were informal, monthly events that provided a meeting place for creatives of all disciplines to connect, collaborate and hear more about innovative, data-driven work taking place across the creative industries.
These free events were open to anyone working in Edinburgh and Southeast Scotland’s creative and cultural communities. CI Labs typically featured talks, demonstrations and/or live performances from creative practitioners and academics who are working with data and data-driven technologies, also providing opportunities to network and hear about upcoming and current Creative Informatics funding calls.
Events have taken place in a variety of cultural and creative spaces in and around Edinburgh. Previous hosts have included Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop, Edinburgh International Festival, The Botanics, Whitespace and Lava Town, with guest speakers including Rachel Maclean, Zachary Eastwood-Bloom, Tobias Revell, Ray Interactive, Brightside Studios, J.R. Carpenter, and Delic.
