Calmus has been nominated for the STV Digital Spark Award (2015), received VACMA funding from Creative Scotland & City of Edinburgh Council (2018), and was nominated to be the President of Visual Arts Scotland (2020-2023). In 2021, Calmus was shortlisted for The Leadership Award, through the Creative Edinburgh Awards and in 2022 was awarded the Creative Development Bursary from City of Edinburgh Council and an award from the Hope Scott Trust.

Building on Connected Innovators funding from Creative Informatics and Creative Edinburgh (2020), Calmus explored new interactive sound and light works featuring performance and allowing for direct interactivity. Her Resident Entrepreneurs project helped stabilise this new development with focuses on scale, sustainable energy sources, upskilling with sound and light software and creating essential business infrastructure to ensure a healthier and more sustainable practice.

Calmus is exploring new, interactive, public art, sculptural projects through different mediums, with sustainability, improved working practices and accessibility at their core.

At the same time, she is building infrastructure for her new initiative Studio Sumlacs, a socially-driven art production studio that aims to build collaborations and support networks, working with other artists and freelancers to create new opportunities and projects.
