Physical Audio

Physical Audio develops new ways of creating sound using a computer. They produce audio software products using a technique known as physical modelling synthesis. Rather than using traditional methods such as oscillators and filters, or samples of recorded sound, physical modelling uses a purely mathematical approach based on simulating the vibrations of acoustic systems.

Physical Audio

By creating detailed digital models of the elements that make up musical instruments, Physical Audio develop innovative audio products that have real acoustic qualities and dynamic expression far beyond that which is achievable using traditional methods. This ultimately expands the range and quality of synthesized sounds that are available to sound designers, composers and musicians. Through their Resident Entrepreneurs project, Physical Audio developed a process for porting their models over to a professional audio architecture, providing new possibilities for their future releases.
