Dominika took part in Tinderbox Collective’s Room to Play course, during which she researched a new way of interacting with sound in fun and innovative ways. She carried on this research through Creative Bridge (Cohort 8) and, through the Resident Entrepreneur programme, she was able to refine her idea further.
The 2D Bosko-Wakko Light-mixer is a lightbox combining drawing, sound, and animation and by placing a variety of different thickness papers with different shapes and patterns you can change and manipulate the sound. Created and developed during the Room to Play course, Dominika worked closely with award-winning musician, sound-designer, game developer and sonic artist, Yann Seznec as well as Edinburgh’s Tinderbox Collective.
Dominika exhibited the playful and participatory “Interactive Lightbox” sound and visual installation at V&A Dundee (The Arcadia 2019 Press Play Tay Late), The Royal Scottish Academy (SSA & VAS 2020) and the Edinburgh Festival of Sound 2020. Her work has also been in Edinburgh’s Filmhouse, Hidden Door Festival and White space, as well as exhibitions in BWA Tarnow in Poland.
