Jo worked with developers (and CI Creative Challenge Responder), Viapontica, to develop a proof of concept, immediately cutting down the time spent culling photographs by up to 80%. In addition to the funding offered, Jo found other elements of the RE programme very useful as her company grew; legal support helped her to identify her IP, and her mentor from Creative Edinburgh provided crucial support with business planning and development. Furthermore, she received a sound foundation in the technical aspects of her project, whilst also gaining an understanding of the complex questions around ethics in the use of AI. In May 2023, 20 Photos was awarded a UK Government grant of £50K via Creative Catalyst.
