STEMZ is a captivating 3D maker toy that inspires curiosity and opens endless opportunities for discovery and fun. Named to reflect the way ideas grow as you click its flexible, intriguingly organic pieces together, it is also a nod to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths.
With a sensory play experience that aids focus and relaxation, STEMZ is designed for curious minds of all ages. It can even be used to model organic structures such as molecules, DNA, or even complex proteins.
In the past 3 years, Splatform Limited has sold STEMZ stock with a retail value in excess of £250K. Covid-19 caused a slight pause in trading, however, this pause has ultimately provided an opportunity for Splatform to improve and develop a brand-new product.
Through their Resident Entrepreneur project, Splatform seeks to overcome previous difficulties expressing the organic non-rectilinear nature of STEMZ as well as reflect on the tactile nature of it through the creation of an interactive digital product simulation.
Euan Lind, CEO of Splatform shared his Resident Entrepreneur experience:
“I was very excited to be part of the Resident Entrepreneur programme, particularly since a data-based algorithmic approach to design has long been part of my practice. The programme has helped to consolidate our relationship with our delivery partner Brian Loudon of Loud1 design who has been our lead developer on the project.”
Currently, the company is gearing up to relaunch with a new product, brand, and with the help of Creative Informatics, an interactive web-based STEMZ simulation in 2021.
