Edinburgh International Festival
The Edinburgh International Festival (EIF) brings audiences and artists together from all over the world.
Edinburgh International Festival is an unparalleled, city-wide, celebration of the performing arts across three weeks each August in Scotland’s capital.
Created in 1947 to celebrate the human spirit and bring people together through art, it is a global celebration of the finest performers and ensembles from the worlds of dance, opera, music and theatre. It also connects with local artists and communities through a range of programmes year-round.
EIF set a Creative Informatics Challenge Project to create virtual working spaces for venues in the city of Edinburgh to enable the Festival to stay at the forefront of technical innovation, providing the planning resources that world-class productions expect.
In 2020, pre-visualisation and digital surveying specialists Stageport were selected to respond to EIF’s Challenge Project. The project is currently underway with outcomes expected in 2021.
