Watch some of the highlights from our 2022 Creative Informatics Innovation Showcase, which took place as a hybrid event at Edinburgh College of Art on Thursday 30th June.

This year’s CI Showcase programme focussed on three key strands that explored the ways in which data-driven innovation can support individuals and organisations working in the creative industries to explore, transform and connect.
We were joined by a host of Creative Informatics project holders, discussing the innovative products, services and experiences they have developed with funding and support from our funding strands, along with keynotes from special guest speakers Beta Lucca and Nikki Kilburn.
Transform Keynote – Beta Lucca
Beta Lucca, ‘multi’ entrepreneur, founder of Bossa Games and one of Forbes Top 50 Women in Tech, delivered our first keynote presentation, sharing her varied and creative career journey before joining Resident Entrepreneur Jennifer Crichton for a live Q&A.
Connect Panel
Yasmin Sulaiman hosted our Connect Panel featuring CI project holders Barbara Melville (BiaScan) Caitlin Mulgrew (Drake Music Scotland) and Elizabeth McLean (Fruitmarket).
Explore Panel
Smart Hopewell hosted our Explore Panel, featuring lightning talks from CI project holders Tom Methven (Amicable Animal), Sian Bevan (Inquisitive Narratives), Chris Dooks, and CI researcher Ingi Helgason.
Connect Keynote – Nikki Kilburn
Nikki Kilburn, creative director of community interest media company True and Woke, delivered out second keynote, before discussing the challenges of collecting data to represent different voices with Nicola Osborne.
Transform Panel
Dr Susan Lechelt hosted our Transform Panel featuring CI project holders Caro Overy and Lynne Hocking (Applied Arts Scotland), along with CI researcher Inge Panneels.
