Creative Bridge is a free course for creatives in Edinburgh and the surrounding areas, run by CodeBase. Whether you have a business idea, or you’d just like to know more about startup thinking, Creative Bridge aims to demystify the tech world and its jargon, sharing the building blocks of digital product development over 10 weeks.
As a pre-accelerator, Creative Bridge is primarily designed for creatives with early stage ideas, or no ideas, with core sessions on Markets, Understanding Customers and Pitching. The course also hosts creative entrepreneurs from around the world, who share stories about how they made something amazing happen, and how they’ve failed.
Cohort 9 of Creative Bridge (September to November 2022) will be the final Creative Informatics cohort of Creative Bridge. If you were unable to apply but are interested in what the course offers, get in touch with CodeBase to find out more about their education programmes.
Is Creative Bridge for me?
In short, probably yes! We’re looking for people who:
- Work in any area of the creative industries.
- Are based in Edinburgh, Fife, West Lothian, East Lothian, Midlothian or the Scottish Borders.
However, if you’re based outside this area, get in touch – you may still be eligible if you can demonstrate that your business or idea will have an impact in Edinburgh and/or South East Scotland.

What to expect from the course
Creative Bridge runs for 10 weeks, for 3 hours a week. We deliver the programme hybrid, so attendees can join flexibly online or in person each week
Creative Bridge is free for successful applicants as each place is funded by Creative Informatics (the course costs £5000 per participant). The course schedule changes every time, but broadly covers the following core topics: Markets; Understanding Your Customers; the Build-Measure-Learn cycle; Pitch Decks; and Funding & Investment, alongside guest speaking slots from global entrepreneurs.
